Zoo

This past week we met up with my friend Lori and her son Gavin at the Sacramento Zoo. It was a fun day, until I thought I lost Lucas, and went running around the place yelling for him like a maniac. Then, I realized he was right there on the slide, but on his belly, which is why I couldn't see him at first. Ugh. The 30 seconds or so of adrenaline was terrifying. Then it was time to strap him in the stroller and cry all the way home . . . hormones??? Let's hope I have Dominic soon!

Swim Lessons

Tony and I signed James up for swim lessons at the new indoor pool by us. It's time he learned how to swim, and the best part about these lessons was that I didn't have to get in the pool with him! (Although Lucas was ready to jump in.) Woo Hoo! I was really impressed that about 10 minutes into the lesson James got out of the pool and came over to tell me he had to go pee. I thought to myself, why didn't you just pee in the pool like you do in the bath? Guess he thought the water might change color or something . . . ;-)

After swim lessons, we decided to go to Chick-Fil-A for dinner. Who knew Tuesday was family night? Every Tuesday they have a husband and wife there who do face painting and make balloon animals (or laser guns, in James' case.) for the kids. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day!

The Belly . . .

Here are a couple shots of the belly taken Halloween night. Next year you will be trick-or-treating with us Dominic!

Baby Shower for Dominic

Okay, so the shower actually happened the beginning of October but I've been having trouble downloading the pictures my friend took. I only got the one of me alone standing by a tree to download. ;-) Oh, well. I just wanted to say thank you to all of the wonderful people I work with for a terrific dinner at Crush 29 and a wonderful shower to celebrate Dominic. I feel very blessed.

GIANTS!

Tony, his cousin Alex and I went to the first home playoff game at AT&T park. It was a gorgeous day in San Francisco! It was a long trip there however. We drove to Geary, got on the WRONG 38 bus, got off, walked a few blocks, then called a cab (which was my original idea, but you know how men are.) Then, on the way back, we got on Muni, got off at the wrong stop, walked a few blocks, got back on Muni, got off, walked a few blocks, got on the 38 and headed back to the car. Then it was off to Pizza Orgasmica . . . need I say more? ;-)

Bishop's Pumpkin Patch

We met with James' preschool class for a field trip to Bishops Pumpkin Patch. It was a fun day, and we got some great shots!
Daddy and Lukey on the Hay Ride!
James and Lucas waiting for the return Hay Ride to take them out of the pumpkin patch!
James and teacher Suzie.
James loves the goats!
Lucas HATED the goats! He went in with his ice cream cone full of goat food and got trampled on by an angry mob of goats. He screamed until I picked him up and took him out.

The Tabacco Brother's Pumpkin Farm! See ya again next year!

Weird things in the backyard . . .

I kept telling Tony I was seeing a RED dragonfly in the backyard. He thought I was nuts. So, I had to snap a picture for proof. He was stunned! Beautiful!

As James and Lucas were napping the other day I noticed this bird sitting on our fence. Not our typical avian visitor. I am not a bird expert, so I am not exactly sure what type of bird it is. It was pretty neat to see though, and I'm glad I got the picture.

Mark and Faith's Wedding

Tony and I went to the wedding of Tony's friend Mark from AMR. Tony always talks about what a talented guy Mark is and how Mark is "the nicest guy he's ever known." Mark and Faith's wedding was beautiful. It was held on a friend's property in Penryn that was just gorgeous. Of course, the bride was beautiful! Mark, being a musician, wrote a song for his new wife that he sang (while playing the piano) during the ceremony. (I think we all got a little tear in our eye!) Mark even danced to Micheal Jackson during the reception . . . moon walk and all . . .
Congrats to Mark and Faith. May you have a lifetime of love and happiness!

Brothers

Playing in the rain makes for two hungry boys!
Their fascination with rain boots and picking all of my green tomatoes continues . . .

James has been fascinated by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Although he calls them the seven little "warfses." Here he is dressed as one. instead of singing "Hi Ho" James sings, "My Hole, My Hole, It's off to work I go . . ." (He keeps us laughing!)

Balloons!

James will say, "we're having a party" and then go get balloons for me to blow up. If I ever try to say no he replies, "but it's your birthday!" Ha ha ha. He always makes sure to get one for Lucas too.

Avocado . . .

Forgot to mention . . . Luke also likes avocados . . .

James' First Day of School

James' first day of the new school year. He was so excited to get back to school!!!!!!

Lukey looks almost big enough to go to school with him! The second day I picked James up from school his teacher said, "We watched a video on cooperation and James raised his hand and gave the definition of cooperation." It just melted my heart. That's a special little man I've got there. I just know he is going to be a wonderful man one day. (and probably the boss too!)

Thor. . . the Norse God . . .

We have a little joke about Lukey being our Norse God, Thor. He is so big, eats everything, and loves the cool morning weather. He will be stumbling down the sidewalk in shorts and a tee shirt giggling and James is tip-toeing behind complaining that he's cold and wants to go in. They couldn't be more opposite. Here we are out to dinner with Lukey man-handling a corn cob.

California State Fair

We met Tony after work one of the last days of the fair. It was the first time we went in the evening instead of the morning, but it was a nice time to go. Tony and James started off by riding the huge slide. We kept seeing little kids go by themselves and scrub really hard. Even landing and falling over on their heads. The men running the slide wouldn't let Tony and James go together so, Tony last minute grabbed James onto his lap and rode with him. At the end the workers were yelling at Tony' "No more ride for you!!!" Ha ha ha, thanks Tony for the good lookin' out! ;)
James, enjoying a little fair food. I have to say I over-indulged a bit. Tony and I each had a giant corn dog and shared a deep fried veggie platter. Then topped it off with a funnel cake. Need I say more?
James on his first Pony ride. He got a kick out it when they stopped the horses to "scoop the poop." James also won his first fair game. He hit enough balloons with a dart to win one of the Bees from the movie. Bzzzzzzz . . . He was so proud.
After it got dark, Tony and I went and listened to the Eddie Money concert. "I've got two tickets to Paradise . . ."

My First Giants Game!

Thursday evening we met up with Tony's cousin Alex and his girlfriend, Steph in San Francisco. We went out to some awesome sushi and caught a taxi to the Giant's game. It was so much fun. The game flew by and the Giants won. Woo Hoo!
We woke up early, excited to go get some breakfast at our old favorite place when Tony lived in S.F. called Crepes on Cole. Yummy. We chatted it up with the owner and he ended up giving us a free dessert crepe . . . strawberries and brown sugar with whipped cream. Yummy.

James' First Movie

Thursday morning Tony and I took James to see Toy Story 3 while Luke stayed with Grandma Benson. It was limitless candy and popcorn for James which he has never had before. We laughed throughout the entire movie and had a great time. Although, I could swear James looked a little green as we were leaving the theater . . .

Lunch with Little Pop

Tony's great grandfather, Little Pop, is 97. Over the past several years he has slowly been losing his memory due to vascular dementia. He often forgets who I am, so we decided it might be best to just have Tony and James visit him for lunch so he didn't feel too overwhelmed. He is just precious, and I am really happy Tony got some good pictures! Love you, Pop.

Monterey

Last week, Tony and I unexpectedly found ourselves off work together! We decided to take advantage of it after a long period of having NO days off together, and treat the boys to a nice little trip. We headed down to the Bay Area to stay with my parents and made a trip to Monterey the next day! Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Benson for treating us to the museum!

Lucas, still not walking, liked to sit and point to the huge hanging whale skeletons and sea otters and talk to us about them.

While outside, having a snack, we saw some "big kids" getting scuba lessons. How cool! Maybe one day James and Lucas can too! James had a lot of fun watching.
A picture of a type of seahorse in the new exhibit, called a "sea dragon." Beautiful. I can't believe this is a real animal!

Daddy and James strike a pose with Daddy sea horse giving birth. :)

James really enjoyed all the touch pools and hands-on stuff to do!
After the museum it was off to Cannery Row for some Ghiradelli (sp?) ice cream!
