Funtastic Day

I worked Friday and Saturday night and now I'm off. I feel like I barely survive these weekends since being pregnant. Luckily only one more to go until I'm off. I just hope my maternity leave doesn't go by too fast! Today I took James to Funtastic, a playcenter here in Elk Grove. I met some people from my MOMS club there and was so thankful James had a blast. At first I had to crawl around everywhere with him (other people probably thought it was funny to see a big 'ol pregnant lady climbing through tunnels about 12 feet in the air). Finally, he warmed up and started playing on his own. We ended up being there nearly 3 hours! I think we got our money's worth. I've got to say though, working nights and not hardly sleeping does have it's effect though. A lady asked me how old James was and I said, "he just turned a year....wait a minute, TWO years!" That lady probably though how strange, that mom didn't know how old her son is... Hahaha Maybe it's just my mommy brain, which is now multiplied by two.
Lastnight Tony and I had a date! Well, our "dates" are couch dates after James goes to bed, since it's so hard to get out. But, we watched the WEC fights together and Tony made me a smoothie with our new Vitamix blender. We bought this blender at Costco last Wednesday and we have used it about twice a day since getting it. We've even gotten James to drink his veggies (spinach and carrot). Pretty amazing, well worth the price since a smoothie at Jamba Juice runs about $5. It truely is the simple things in life that make us the most happy, isn't it?

Inauguration Day

Well, I wish I could've paid more attention to President Obama's speech this morning but James was a little loud and fussy. Tony watched it and said what a terrific speech it was. I think we are all feeling very energized by the presence President Obama brings to the White House. I have great hope for him and our nation. I know one person can't possibly fix everything all at once but I really do believe he will try his hardest to get America on the right track.

Tony and James' Trip To See Pop

Tony and James took a trip down to Redwood City to visit Pop, Tony's 96 year old great grandfather, on Saturday. Tony suggested that they get Taco Bell for lunch because his Pop has always loved it. However, when he suggested it, Pop said, "I've never heard of that before." Then, while eating, Pop kept saying, "this is a real treat, I wish I had known about this place earlier!" Too precious. We are so lucky to have Pop around!
Tony and James spent the night, and I thought it would be really good to have the house all to myself for a day, but I'm so used to always having James following me around, it felt kind of lonely. However, I did work the weekend and it was my first time at our new facility in Roseville. Luckily, I carpool with my friend Shaunna whic is nice. The commute doesn't seem so bad afterall, it's mostly all freeway driving. The facility itself is very nice and it's good to finally have a locked-down, secure unit with our own bathrooms, breakroom, and locker room. There have been a few glitches since moving, but hopefully everything will be worked out while I am on maternity leave. (Only four more shifts to go!)

We met our friends Shaunna, Spencer and Molly at the park yesterday and had fun. Well, James wasn't totally in the mood to play, he more or less sat by me and snacked. He did eventually ride down the slide once and he sat on the swing for a little while. It's like I'm torturing him by taking him to the park sometimes. Maybe he will be less clingy when the baby comes? Who am I kidding, things will probably intensify for a while.
Monday Tony started back to school and he is rotating through his geriatric portion right now. He just told James he'd be really mad if James ever put me in a home. Ha ha ha, me too! Between school on Monday, a 14 hour shift Tuesday, a 12 hour shift Wednesday, and 8 hour clinicals Thursday and Friday I feel like I'm a single mom this week! We got so spoiled having Tony off at winter break!
Well, only two more weeks of work and then I'm off for maternity leave! YAY! I feel like I have so much to do to get ready for Lucas' arrival.
Today has been such a busy day. We met our playgroup at the park this morning and then James and I headed to McDonalds for lunch. James did not want to nap today and during the very short nap he did take I made dinner for another mom from our MOMS club that just had her baby. Then when James woke up we had to deliver the dinner and come home and make our dinner! I keep reminding myself that I will have more energy again when I'm not pregnant anymore. Right now everything seems like a chore from breathing, to sleeping, to putting on my shoes!

MOVE DAY!

Today is finally move day for our unit at Morse Avenue! Tony is working on the ambulances transporting the babies from Morse Avenue to our brand new unit in Roseville. He is working with my friend from work, Sarah. He had to wake up at four this morning, as his shift started at five! He got a call from his supervisor yesterday reminding him to "be professional and make sure he followed their dress code exactly." Probably because they knew this would be on the news and Kaiser is one of American Medical Response's biggest accounts! I can't wait until he gets home so I can get all the scoop on how it went! And, I will see for myself when I go to work Friday night. Here are some links to news clips of the move!

Pee Pee in the Potty?

James was very interested in his cousin's potty chair at the cabin and loved to sit on it. Even though he never actually went, I had to get a picture of him on the potty with a book....just like dear old Dad....hahahaha!

Snow Trip

Well, we finally made it to the snow! We had a really fun trip but the preparations definitely outlasted the time spent in the snow. James didn't sleep well during the trip so Tony and I were exhausted but I can't wait to go again. Sometimes it's just nice to get away and have a change of scenery. The snow was a little crunchy and we didn't get the fresh powder we were wishing for, so the sled didn't go too fast, but not bad for James' first trip!

Mommy and James snuggle in the snow!
Tony and James take a break from sledding.
Woo Hoo! Tony and James go sledding by! After about four or five times on the sled James was finished. He laid down in the snow and started making a snow angel, I think he must have seen that on one of his cartoons or something? Then we went inside to take off all the snow gear and relax!
