Today James, Lucas, and I went to the mall with my friend Shaunna and her kids Spencer and Molly. We got there early and were third in line to see the Easter Bunny. There was only one guy working there, besides the Easter Bunny (who was a little late to work), and he was working up a sweat. Good thing we were in the front of the line or we would have had to wait forever. I didn't get a picture I could post but I did snap one on our way out the door!

Sacramento Zoo
Today we went to the Zoo with my friends from work, Shaunna and Sara and their kids. James had so much fun riding the train. The zoo is small so we quickly saw the animals and then headed to the picnic tables for lunch. Shaunna and Sara both have great cameras and take great pictures. I brought my falling apart old camera and James snapped a couple pics, so I don't have a lot to show for this trip...Next, it was home for my favorite time of the day...NAP TIME! I put James down for his nap, fed Lucas, and then I laid down and didn't wake up until 5:00pm! Tony had come home and gotten James up from his nap and I didn't even wake up! I guess I was pretty tired...
James' shot of Kyle, Spencer and Allison.
Lucas, pooped out on our way to the car. He missed the whole trip! Would you believe that he cried the whole way home, though?

One Month and Counting...
James relaxing, watching 101 Dalmations, and holding his baby brother. Love the arm behind the head. Ha ha ha
My chubby little meatball! Can't believe it's already been one month, Lucas! My how you've grown.
James stole the camera and snapped this picture...I actually don't mind it either. Probably because he cut off half of my forehead. Future photographer?
Tony studies for his OB test with Lucas. I told him he could definitely be a NICU nurse if he can chart and hold a baby at the same time! To my three men: Love you guys!

Random Pictures...
James' new Thomas bed. He was so excited about this bed I didn't think he'd sleep but he's been doing great staying in this big boy bed! Choo Choo! We were able to pass his crib along to Lucas.
Me and Lucas resting. I am enjoying the fact that Lucas likes to cuddle. From the very beginning James was very independent and was never much of a snuggler. I am enjoying every minute since I know all too well how fast they grow! On Wednesday Lucas' eyes were looking really crusty so I took him to the doctor for a culture. The doctor was convinced that Lucas has blocked tear ducts, but he cultured it just incase. James had a blocked tear duct too, maybe it runs in the family? ;) Well, they also weighed Lucas at this appointment and he was 10 lbs 5 oz. This baby is growing like a weed and is already bigger than James was at his age despite being born almost a pound smaller. Tony and I have now changed his nickname from our little chicken butt to our little meatball! He he he.
James, such a good big brother. Always ready to help with Lucas. Although James can't say Lucas, he calls him "Eeah." When Lucas cries we hear "No Eeah, no!" I am getting so excited thinking about the two of them playing together once Lucas is big enough!
Lastnight we went to dinner with our friends Pat and Shaunna, and their kids Spencer and Molly. We got one huge booth. Boys on one side, girls on the other! It felt good to get out to dinner and the kids were all so well behaved we got to enjoy some adult conversation, not to mention some yummy mexican food!

Updates!
James after his long awaited haircut.
James in his big boy bed saying goodnight to Lucas.
It never really occurred to me that James wasn't a baby anymore until Lucas was born. Now I look at James and think, "Holy Cow, you're a little boy now!" James has been a wonderful big brother to Lucas so far and loves to help me change his diapers and gives him plenty of kisses. He hasn't been aggressive with Lucas at all but sometimes gets frustrated that mommy and daddy can't always jump up to help him right away if we are busy.
The other morning, Tony and I were awake in bed and I was feeding Lucas. We heard a strange noise and all of a sudden our bedroom door opened and there was James. He said "Hello" in the sweetest little whisper. We decided it must be time for a toddler bed so we spent the afternoon re-organizing his room and converting his crib into a toddler bed. Earlier in the day we took him out for a haircut and lunch. I think he had a good day with plenty of attention! He loves his big boy bed and gets up a few times here and there but has really done a good job of sleeping in it. He has also continued to go pee pee on the potty (and poop once) although this is by no means consistent.
Now for an update on Lucas. His last appointment on the 3rd he weighed in at 7 lbs 2 oz, and today he weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs 14 oz. His doctor was like, "What the heck are you feeding that kid?" But, he said there's no such thing as a fat baby and since it's all breast milk how bad could it be? He is perfectly healthy and continuing to grow, obviously!

Lucas' first week
Happy one week Birthday little Lucas! Can't believe it's already been a week! Unfortunately Tony was not able to take time off for the birth of Lucas because he is in nursing school, and nursing school stops for no one! So, on day #2 of being home I took James and Lucas to the doctor for Lucas' well baby check by myself. I was so nervous, but it worked out fine. James is a good helper, opening doors and pressing the elevator buttons for me. The appointment went great and Lucas got a clean bill of health. Lucas, you are such a joy! So far Lucas has been a great eater and sleeper, as mellow as can be and it's as if he's always been here. I feel great too. The second baby is so much easier on your body it seems. My friend Shaunna came to visit on Friday. What would I do without a friend like Shaunna? Even though we haven't been friends all that long she is definitely one of those few special people that come into your life and you know they will always be there. Not to mention our husbands and kids seem to get along really well too! Anyhow, she watched James for us while we were at the hospital and brought us food after Lucas' birth, and she planned my baby shower. She's awesome.
Shaunna holding Lucas!
Saturday Tony's Nan came with his aunt Denise and cousin Erik. James and Erik played while eveyone visited and saw Lucas. We only got one picture because our camera's battery died.
